Xabi Alonso mark the UK as one of the "outstanding favorite" to win the World Cup next summer, attributing his success to coach Fabio Capello.
The Real Madrid star said the Italian coach's team had turned inside out, making the Euro 2008 flops for real championship contenders in 2010.
"England have the quality to win the World Cup in South Africa next year," said Alonso, the Daily Mirror. "
For me, no doubt they are one of the leading favorites to win the title and become world champions.
"From the moment Fabio Capello arrived, the team has improved in many respects and different aspects and has become a top national team."
