Eduardo barred for two Champions League games

NYON, Switzerland (AP) - UEFA banned Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva for two Champions League matches Tuesday for diving to earn a penalty in a qualifying match against Celtic.

The UEFA disciplinary committee made the decision after a conference call.

The panel said the Brazilian-Croatian forward deceive the referee when he got the penalty decision after a challenge by Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc on Wednesday.

Eduardo scored from the shot and Arsenal won the match 3-1, advancing to the group stage 5-1 on aggregate.

Eduardo will miss the games in Group H Arsenal Standard Liege on 16 September and at home to Olympiakos on September 29.

Arsenal may appeal within three days...[source]
