Alves fires Umm Salal to win
Magno Alves struck a hat-trick to steer Umm Salal to a 5-1 win over Mesaimer in the Sheikh Jassim Cup in Qatar.
Alves, Qatar, last season's top scorer in the top league, opened the scoring after 13 minutes and then adding a second two minutes later sealed his hat-trick two minutes before halftime.
By Abbas Maleki 49th minute penalty reduced the deficit Mesaimer, but Fabio Cesar restored the lead four minutes later before Brazilian striker Davi wrapped the scoring just before the hour.
