FC Bayern Munich is a German sports club based in Munich, Bayern (Munich, Bayern). In English name is literally Bayern Munich but is usually referred to Bayern Munich. It is best known for its professional football team, which is the most successful club in German football, having won 20 Bundesliga titles and 14 cups.
The club was founded in 1900 by eleven footballers led by Franz John. Even if Bayern won its first national championship in 1932, the club was not selected for the Bundesliga at the start of 1963. In the mid-1970s, the club had its period of great success, when the famous under the leadership of Franz Beckenbauer won the European Cup three times in a row (1974-76). Over the past few years has been the most successful team in German soccer, won seven of the last ten championships. The Club's first international title was the Intercontinental Cup in 2001.
Since the beginning of the 2005-06 season, Munich plays its home matches in the Allianz Arena. Earlier the team had played for 33 years in the Olympic Stadium. The team colors are red and white, and the team CREST shows the colors of Bavaria
Bayern is a membership at the club and with more than 142500 members. There are also more than 2000 officially registered fan clubs, with around 132000 members. The club has other departments for chess, handball, basketball, gymnastics, bowling, table tennis, judges and senior football with more than 1100 active members .
