Barcelona are working on a new contract of Lionel Messi, according to reports in Spain and Italy.
Both El Mundo Deportivo and La Gazzetta dello Sport have suggested the Catalan club are offered to 22 years of age € 9.5m per year in an attempt to ensure its long term future.
Barcelona are also keen to increase the number of acquisition Messi on the forehead, which currently amounts to € 150 to € 300m.
The proposed new agreement would overcome recent signing Messi Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the best paid player at the Camp Nou.
The Argentina international has spent his entire career at Barcelona, after having come through the youth system at the club. Debuted in 2004 at the age of 17 years, and has come to scoring 54 goals in 109 league appearances.
Messi also played a role in Barça's successful Champions League campaign of 2008/09 UEFA.
